Luxx Nails and Spa is the perfect place to find well-deserved relaxation. Owners Jackson ‘Justin’ Huynh and Jessica Nguyen have also taken the stress out of waiting, by setting up appointment times.
“At first, we started working as a nail technician to pay for our education,” said Nguyen. The duo has spent most of their lives in Mississippi. Nguyen graduated from Cleveland High School in 2012 while Jackson came here after his graduation from Mississippi College in 2015.
Nguyen said the love of being a nail tech grew.
“One thing led to another. We’ve met several friends in town, who then become our regular clients. Our love for Cleveland has also grown,” said Nguyen. “And, then one day, Jackson and I sat down and thought, ‘we need to build something more community-oriented other than just a nail salon.’ The idea of Luxx arrived.”
Born out of the word luxury, Neuyen said as a nail business, they’d like to provide their clients with top-notch service in a luxurious environment.
“This is the difference we can proudly say that we make. By prioritizing appointments, which we are the first and only nail business here that carries out, our goal is to create a relaxing, luxurious lifestyle/getaway, even just for one hour, for our clients,” she explained. “While life is so hard and stressful out there, we all deserve a few minutes to sit back, relax, enjoy some pampering, luxurious moments, don’t we? In the end, our fundamental right that we all reserve is to be happy, and being luxurious is a bonus.”
Nguyen said they offer a wide range of manicure and pedicure services.
“Our business is mainly operated through our appointments booking. We also work on walk-ins if spots at the time are available. Our services consist of about 800 colors in gel polish, 1000 color-in-dipping systems, about 20 types of pedicure and hundreds of nail accessories/designs for Ombré and acrylic nail sets,” she added. “Especially, our pedicure system is categorized into several purposes such as Jelly for skin exfoliation, Volcano Spa for skin hydration, SERUM spa for special skin treatment.”
Luxx Nails and Spa offers the best in traditional services, but they also keep with the latest trends.
“We believe trendy nails are one that’s fitted to you the most, since specific trends change every day and it’s next to impossible just to try to keep up. We love to give our advice to our clients regarding the occasions they are preparing for,” she said. “Plus, we customize the nail set based on Pinterest pictures. We also frequently update the newest color, nail design, products that are offered in the market to serve our clients with options and style. This year, rainbow 5-color nails and pastel colors have been trending. This summer, an oval-shaped nail with bright, fun color polished partly on the fingertips, has a lot of love from our young clients as well.”
She also said they do not see Luxx as a mere nail salon.
“One of the reasons we opened Luxx is to provide our clients with aesthetics services with care, pride and pleasure. In addition, opening Luxx is a milestone, the first step among several others to become a community-oriented business. Since we’ve been nail technicians for a long time, it would be more advantageous for us to start off with a nail business,” said Nguyen. “With Luxx, we can establish our bonding with clients, understand our clientele thoroughly, and learn more about our community through conversations. Our mission in life is to support our community, represent our town and invest in our development. We’ve shared this vision with our clientele and together, we’ve done good things such as Bayou Bash donations, charity ball, door prizes for Country Club tennis tournaments. We are so lucky and grateful to have a big group of amazing clients who stand up for the town and are willing to include us in their activities. This year, we’re grateful to be associated with several activities from Bayou Academy and we look forward to extending our associations with other schools as well.”
Besides working on community-based donations and projects, Nguyen said they simply love their customers.
“Our joy comes from clients’ happiness and satisfaction of hard work. We are in this business thanks to our clients’ support and love. It’s our responsibility and pleasure to create a brand new version of themselves when they leave. We enjoy it so much just seeing how happy they are when they say ‘it feels great. I needed this so much after a long week,’” she said. “We also enjoy one another’s company. Friends come by, get nails done and talk about things. We get comfortable with one another like a family. It feels warm-hearted when we’re asked if we need some coffee or food by a client who’s on the way to her appointment.
