Already home to delectable delights, more culinary delights and convenience is coming to Cleveland. Double Quick, McAlister’s Deli and Arby’s have all made substantial progress in Bolivar County. Cleveland’s Director Community Development, Billy Trotter gave an update on the trio of companies.
“Double Quick owned by the Refuel Operating Company will be located at 815 North Davis here in Cleveland,” said Trotter. “It’s pretty much a standard Double Quick refuel center. They have proposed to do their own in-house cooking. Everything is going well and is on schedule. They’ve been passing their inspections and everything is going good on that project.”
He noted there won’t be any combo stores with Church’s or any other with Double Quick and they will cook all of their own food.
McAlister’s Deli, located at the former Angie’s Produce/Ray’s Auto Parts/Barnes Refrigeration at 403 East Sunflower Road.
“It will be a nice sized deli and they plan to open in the next few months as well,” said Trotter. “Channing Hodges has been excited to come to Cleveland for a long time and he has a lot to offer. Cleveland is definitely excited and we are excited about the growth of Cleveland as well.”
Arby’s has in a proposal and permits to begin renovation will be secured soon.
“That will be 201 South Davis, the old Wendy’s/Krystal building down by McDonald’s,” said Trotter. “Those are all the big projects going on right now.”
Trotter noted that his office stays busy on the residential side as well as they oversee new construction, residential and commercial occupancy and provide all of the needed inspections and code enforcements throughout the community. Trotter has been with the city for 18 years and has been director for the past two years.
“Things are moving along pretty well here in Cleveland.”
