Bayou Academy Hires Basketball Coach

Bayou Academy is pleased to announce the hiring of Ms. Mollie Blair. Coach Blair will be leading the Girls Basketball program, as well as teaching in the science department. Mollie graduated high school from Jackson Academy, where she had an outstanding academic and athletic career. She continued her athletic and academic successes at Mississippi College, where she played basketball and earned her degree in science. Mollie’s most recent position was at Millsaps College as an assistant basketball coach. Bayou Academy is excited to have Coach Mollie Blair join the Colt family. The Lady Colts ended the 2019 – 2020 season with a 24-8 record under the coaching of Wesley Aldridge. Coach Aldridge spoke candidly about passing the girl’s coaching position off to Ms. Blair, “When the season ended, I knew I couldn’t carry on with the task load of 3 teams, but at the same time, I wasn’t willing to give them up until we found the right person to take the program to the next level and new heights. Mollie checked all of the boxes for me. Getting to work at Millsaps as a college assistant this past year, Mollie got to see the ins and outs of what it takes to develop girls to get to the collegiate level. I’m very excited to get to work with her and can’t wait to see her take our girls program to an all-time high.” Bayou Academy looks toward the future for a bright, promising year with Coach Blair leading the way.
