New shop opens in Boyle

Dana Kline had never really thought about becoming a business owner. She and her husband, Earl, run their own successful farm, but, as an avid crafts maker and designer who had done some work for others out of her home, a friend planted the idea in her head of opening a shop–and it kept floating around in her mind, she said. That idea has now become a reality.
PeaVine Flowers And Gifts just had its soft opening a little over a week ago, and the result so far has Kline happy that she made her decision. The business is named “PeaVine” after an old railroad that once ran through Boyle and the name now given to a growing business district in town. Kline said business has been good and that being located right on Hwy. 61 certainly doesn’t hurt visibility.
“We’ll do a grand opening probably on or around July 15,” said Kline.
The new store sells and specializes in flowers and gifts, most of the latter which are handmade by Kline herself and a few other local artists who sell their wares through consignment.
“I get our flowers from Mississippi Wholesale out of Jackson and, occasionally, I run out and get or cut some of my own,” said Kline of her floral selection (which can also be delivered to customers within a 40-mile radius). “We have a nice selection of flowers and, also, I think our gifts are very unique–a variety of items like t-shirts, soaps, cups, bath bombs, toys–a wonderful collection that I believe our customers will find to their liking.”
PeaVine Flowers and Gifts can be found on Facebook, and a website will be forthcoming. For more information, or to place an order, call 662-719-1760 or email peavineflowersandgifts@yahoo.com. The store is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
“Although if we need to stay a little longer for people getting off of work, we’ll be glad to do so,” she said.
The “we” includes co-workers, Shellie Gilbert and Ragan McIntosh.
“Word is getting out about the business and, again, I’m excited to start this new chapter in my life and provide our customers with some great floral and gift options,” said Kline.
