Cleveland Police Chief Buster Bingham has announced the annual Shop with a Cop Program is in full force this holiday season.
“The Shop with a Cop Program is something that started many years ago by former Captain Mike McCain,” said Bingham. “He did a great job getting this program off the ground and running and it has been very successful and we are so happy to keep this alive for the youth in our community.”
The program benefits several local children in the Cleveland community and how many children get to participate in the program depends on the generosity of the citizens of Cleveland. After the donation deadline, the Cleveland Police Department will get with several charitable organizations and get names of kids that are in need of this assistance.
All monies donated are logged in with City Hall and a record of all donations are kept and that is what determines how many kids get to participate.
