Taylor Heat & Air

Serving the area for nearly 60 years

Taylor Air Conditioning & Heating has been an institution in Boyle for nearly 60 years. Originally founded by Robert Taylor Sr. around 1967, it was passed to his nephew, Albert McKnight before being sold to longtime employee Shine Sizemore and his wife, Susan, in 2018.

“I started working here right after I graduated from high school in 1984,” said Sizemore. “I didn’t know what I wanted to go into, and I kind of liked the work here so I pursued it at Mississippi Delta Community College. I was working here while going to school, and I’ve stuck with it and I’ve been here for about half my life, I guess.

“We offer heating and air installation, ventilation. We do dirt-work. We install and service central heat and A/C. I would say you would call us more of a light residential to light commercial provider. We do anything up to 20 tons. We do have one unit that’s a little bit bigger than a 20 ton. But other than that, that’s the only building we do like that,” he said.

Sizemore doesn’t let any problems stand in his way of making customers happy.

“I really enjoy meeting with customers,” he said. “I’m the kind of person that can’t let a problem beat me. I’ll figure it out. My service manager is the same way. He will find a way to solve any problem. Satisfying our customers is the most enjoyable part of this business.”

Sizemore says he currently has six employees at the business, including his wife who handles accounting.

Taylor Air Conditioning & Heating is located at 2708 N. Gaines Hwy., in Boyle. Regular business hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday but they are always available to handle emergency calls after hours.

“We just really appreciate everybody’s business that we’ve done in the last 40 years that I’ve been here and for all the years before,” said Sizemore. “The Taylors built this and they had it for more bthan 50 years.  Mr. Albert was a Taylor, too — his mom was a Taylor. So, that’s why I wanted to keep the family name when I bought it. I still talk to the previous owners, and the old man Mr. Taylor, too. He’s still alive. He told me he’s so proud for me to have the business. I talked to his son the other day and they were so glad that I was able to take the business and keep it going.”
