Each year Coopwood Publishing Group promotes Bolivar County to visitors and locals by publishing the Welcome Guide that highlights and showcases some of the great destinations in and around Bolivar County.
The Guide opens up with a slice of history about Bolivar County. Then, it takes readers on a journey around town tempting them with some fantastic places to shop, dine, and visit. The magazine also gives a glimpse into GRAMMY Museum MS and showcases the beautiful Delta State campus. It’s an excursion that shows why many call the area the “Center of The Mississippi Delta.”
The magazine is distributed throughout the city and can be picked up at most local merchants. The photos in the Welcome Guide are bright, colorful and showcase the talents of photographers such as Rory Doyle and Campbell Saia. Saia is the official photographer and videographer for Delta State University and had one of his photos chosen as the cover of the magazine.
“I love to stroll around our great campus and take random photos,” said Saia. “The cover shot of The Guide this year is a sidewalk shot that displays a colorful explosion of flowers growing, with welcome signs to Delta State adorning poles along the street. It really is a welcoming shot.”
Saia enjoys what he does and loved contributing his work to the magazine to promote Cleveland and Bolivar County.
“I took a variety of photos of campus and submitted them for the magazine,” said Saia. “There is an entire section devoted to the university, so it’s great. I love to show people the beauty that is Delta State.”
