Cleveland 8 Boys Finish 3rd at North State
The Cleveland 8-year-old Boys All-Stars finished third in the Dizzy Dean 8-year-old North State Boys Coach Pitch Tournament at Horn Lake.
Cleveland went 4-2 in the event. The tournament started on June 12 and concluded on June 15. Cleveland defeated Marshall County and Southaven in the first day of the tournament on June 12. Cleveland suffered a setback on June 13 by losing to Washington County but came back on June 14 to defeat Clarksdale and Horn Lake 10-8 as Garner Litton hit a walkoff home run. Cleveland saw its tournament run come to an end on June 15 with a 10-6 loss to Indianola American. In the series, Cleveland’s Caleb Myers hit five shots over the fence for home runs, while Jaxon Thompson and Litton had two bombs each.
Cleveland’s season isn’t over as Cleveland will compete in the Dizzy Dean 8 and Under Boys Coach Pitch World Series at Southaven starting on Thursday (June 26). The World Series is scheduled to end on Sunday (June 29).
Team members are Gryson Cummins, Mason Dixon, Henry Alford, Joseph Barrett, JT Harris, Alec Morgan, Jax Joel, Jack McPherson. Myers, Thompson and Litton. Head Coach is Josh Morgan and assistant coaches are Jeffrey Myers, Brent Barrett and Nick Thompson.
Cleveland 8U Girls Place 3rd at North State
The Cleveland 8 and Under Girls All-Stars finished third in the Dizzy Dean 8 and Under North State Girls Coach Pitch Tournament at Bear Pen Park.
Cleveland went 3-2 in the event. The tournament started on June 12 and concluded on June 15. Cleveland won the first game against J.P. Hudson 24-1 and the second against Clarksdale 21-0 on June 12. Cleveland returned to the field on June 14 and defeated Senatobia 15-0 but lost to Greenwood 12-7. Cleveland ended up seeing its run in the tournament come to an end on June 15 with a 14-1 loss to Grenada Youth.
Everybody on Cleveland’s team contributed to the success it had during the tournament.

Head coach is Eric Patten and assistant coaches are Andy Murphy, Wesley Radicioni and Michael Whitten.
Cleveland 10U Boys go 1-2 at North State
The Cleveland 10 and Under Boys All-Stars went 1-2 in the Dizzy Dean 10 and Under North State Baseball Tournament at Grenada.
Cleveland won on the first day on June 12 by defeating Indianola National. Cleveland lost to Greenwood 7-4 on June 13 and lost to Indianola National 9-5 on June 14.
Team members are Jace Joel, Kaid Camponovo, Riggs Rosson, Charles Hardesty, Samuel Hardesty, Myles Thompson, Channin Bell, Jeremy Stewart, Jr., Graves Fletcher, Payden Powell and Thomas Bennett. Head coach is Patrick Grace and assistant coaches are Dillon Norwood, Alex Fletcher and Alton Smith.
Cleveland 6U Boys All-Stars Go 1-2 at North State
The Cleveland 6 and Under Boys All-Stars went 1-2 in the Dizzy Dean 6 and Under North State Boys Coach Pitch Tournament at Batesville.
Cleveland lost its first game on June 12 in a very competitive game to Southaven National 15-14. On June 13, Cleveland defeated Washington County 9-1 but lost to Indianola 16-8.
Team members are Gatlin Jennings, Walker Chandler, Holt Davis, Eli Rocconi, Luke Gaddy, Parker Sides, Mills Melton, Pearce Burd, Easton Ray, Josh Barrett and Tevin Thomas, Jr. Head Coach is Gavin Jennings and assistants are Austin Davis, Matt Melton and Reeves Gaddy.
Cleveland 6U Girls All-Stars Go 1-3 at North State
The Cleveland 6 and Under Girls All-Stars went 1-3 in the Dizzy Dean 6 and Under North State Girls Coach Pitch Tournament at Batesville.
Cleveland lost the first game to Greenwood 12-11 on June 12. On June 13, Cleveland lost to Louisville 11-9 but came back to beat Sebastopol 16-3. Cleveland ended up losing to Southaven on June 14.
Team members are Blaire Bond, Drew Worsham, Mallie Dill, Sevie Castle, Novie Carvan, Anna Barrett, Darla Moore, Brylinn Christian, Skylar Parker, Ahykia Lucas and Millie Burnham. Head coach is Lacey Moore and assistant coaches are Parker Barrett, Rebecca Parker and Si Burnham.
