Indictment Report

11th Circuit Court lists defendants

The Eleventh Circuit Court District filed their report on September 26 for defendants that will be indicted during the fall term. The term indictment means a formal written statement formed by a prosecuting authority and found by a jury (such as a grand jury) charging a person with an offense.

Unlike a criminal trial, where a jury has to reach a unanimous verdict, a grand jury can issue an indictment with a simple majority. Grand jurors hear evidence and testimony only from prosecutors and the witnesses that they chose to present. An indictment, is a formal accusation – not a conviction – and is among the first moves a prosecutor can make to bring a case to trial.

The defendants listed below have been indicted by a grand jury, composed of residents chosen at random, who believed there was enough evidence to charge the person with a crime. No judges are present during grand jury proceedings. After the defendant has been indicted, the file will be unsealed, initiating the case’s next phase.

A trial is not guaranteed and may not be scheduled for months, as both sides will argue over the merits of the case and what evidence can be presented to a jury.

Defendants indicted by the last grand jury include, Robert Shane Moore, Candace Burroughs (case 1), Gregory Hunter, Macorion Bell, Reginald Fulton, Billy Glen Smith, Clarence Williams, Howard Harris, Caldwell Craig, Martha Ann Harris, Brandon Rickett, Larry Seaberry, Jahavis Newell, Bratika Green, Tyrese Foster, Sanchez Meeks, Christopher Shane Partridge, Emelie Scarlett, Lorenz Hunter, Jeremiah Hogan, Reginald Walker, William Boyd, Kelvin Smith, Cedrick Brown, Cornellious Moore, Eddie Lynom, Corey Edwards Jr., Emily Howell, Issac Robinson, Tiara Fulton, James Rodgers, Leslie Haley, Candace Burroughs (case 2), Dwayne Johnson, Deangelo White, Carlos Medlock, Jaquameion Duvall, Nedarius Harper, James Randle Moody, Colton Doster,  Lamarcus Phillips Jr and Henry Simmons Jr. were indicted from the May/June 2024 term.
