Bayou Academy and North Sunflower Academy will be well represented in the Midsouth Association of Independent Schools All-Star football games on Friday (Dec. 2) at Jackson Prep in Flowood.

North Sunflower Academy will have four players in the MAIS 1A/2A/3A game as DD Williams, Roy Washington, Jr., Logan Nicholson and Trevor Parks were chosen to play in the event. The four standouts played a key role in NSA going 10-2 with a trip to the semifinals of the MAIS 2A State 8-man Football Playoffs. Williams  and Washington  were two solid players for the Rebels on offense and defense, while Nicholson and Parks had great years on defense. Nicholson (DE-LB) and Parks (DE-DL) will be playing for the White team, while Washington (RB-LB) and Williams(WR-RB) will play for the Blue team. The 1A/2A/3A game will start at 3:00 p.m.

Bayou had two players earn spots in the 4A/5A/6A All-Star game as Luke Ward and Cruz Oguz were selected to be a part of the event. Oguz anchored Bayou’s offense as a running back and place kicker this season, while Ward was one of the Colts’ top leaders on defense. The two standouts played key roles in the Colts advancing to the 5A State Playoffs this season. Ward (DE-LB) and Oguz (RB-P) will play for the Blue team in the all-star game. The 4A/5A/6A all-star game will start at 6:00 p.m.
